10:30 am- Worship service/Service project
2:00 pm- Building committee meeting
3:00 pm- Welcoming and Affirming team meeting
*This is the 5th Sunday in March, so we will be working on some service projects. Please note the adjusted schedule for Sunday morning.
All activities will take place in the Fellowship Hall.
We will work on three service projects:
1. Bag It Forward- We will be making bags out of t-shirts (no sewing required). These bags will be donated to Harvesters, which will be used to transport groceries to the families they serve. https://www.harvesters.org/how-to-help/volunteer/off-site-volunteer-opportunities/bag-it-forward
2. Cards for Seniors- We will be making cards for seniors, which will also be donated to Harvesters. These cards will be included in the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) boxes at Harvesters. http://harvesters.org/how-to-help/volunteer/off-site-volunteer-opportunities/create-cards-for-seniors
3. Letters to Legislators- We found out this week that federal funding, which is used to support Harvesters, has been cut. Harvesters stated that “at least 40,000 cases of meat, dairy, eggs and dried fruit have been cancelled.” This impacts Harvesters, our Neighborhood Networks program, and the families we serve greatly. We will have a station set up, along with the supplies needed, to write to our legislators about our concerns.
Please bring a pair of scissors (that will cut fabric) and a ruler, if you have some available.
We have some shirts that have been donated for the Bag It Forward project. Feel free to bring donations of used t-shirts to make bags out of. Shirts must be clean and not have holes in them. Shirts with pictures on them are fine (as long as they are not offensive).
